SHOCKING NEWS! Country Star Drake White Confirms Tragic Loss of Newborn Daughter Della Elizabeth

Drake White and Wife Alex Mourn the Loss of Their Baby Daughter, Della Elizabeth

Country singer Drake White and his wife, Alex, are facing unimaginable heartbreak after the loss of their baby girl, Della Elizabeth White.

In a joint Instagram post on Sunday, the couple shared that Della was born prematurely at 29 weeks on August 31 and passed away shortly after her birth.

“On Sunday, August 31st our precious daughter, Della Elizabeth White, went peacefully to be with Jesus,” they wrote. “We are so thankful for the holy moments God gave us with her. The Lord has been so near and close to us during this difficult time. He has held us up and sustained us through it all. We are heartbroken and soul tired, but we know we will get through this difficult time with the strength, peace, and joy that only our Heavenly Father can provide. May Della be held in the arms of Jesus until we see her again someday.”

The couple also shared scripture that has brought them comfort, including Psalm 34:18 — “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” — and Psalm 31:10, 14-15, which speaks to grief, trust, and surrendering the future into God’s hands.

A Family’s Journey

Drake and Alex had previously announced their pregnancy in May through People, revealing that their daughter was conceived via IVF and due in November. The couple also has a young son, William Hawk, who was also conceived through IVF.

Following their announcement, the country music community surrounded them with love. RaeLynn wrote, “I am so sorry. Praying for you 3. Jesus is near the broken hearted! Cover them Jesus.” Lauren Alaina added, “My heart aches for you. Sending so much love and prayer your way,” while Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild shared, “So very sorry. My heart is breaking for you both. Sending you so much love.”

Strength Through Adversity

The Whites have weathered many challenges together in recent years. In 2019, Drake collapsed on stage after suffering a stroke, and the following year Alex was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and a rare neurological condition known as chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP).

Despite being told he might never perform again, Drake made a remarkable recovery and has since returned to music. Recently, he shared the stage with Riley Green, and this November, he is set to host and curate his second annual Benefit for the Brain concert at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium.

Holding on to Faith

Even in the face of their most devastating loss, Drake and Alex continue to lean on their faith, their family, and their community. Their tribute to Della Elizabeth is a testament to both their pain and their hope — honoring the brief but meaningful life of their daughter while holding on to the belief that they will see her again.
