She Was Just 8 When She Stole Dolly Parton’s Heart — Now She’s 18

Remember the Little Girl Who Played Dolly Parton? Here’s What Alyvia Alyn Lind Is Up to Now

Back in December 2015, Coat of Many Colors brought Dolly Parton’s childhood to life on NBC, winning hearts with its sweet, nostalgic storytelling. Inspired by her beloved song, the film became a holiday favorite—thanks in large part to the young actress who played little Dolly: Alyvia Alyn Lind.

A year later, the story continued with the sequel Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love. While country star Jennifer Nettles stepped in as Dolly’s mother and Ricky Schroder played her father, it was Alyvia who truly stole the show.

Dolly’s Seal of Approval

Before landing the role of young Dolly, Alyvia already had some impressive credits. She was best known as Faith Newman on The Young and the Restless, a role she held from 2011 to 2021. She also appeared on shows like Revenge, See Dad Run, and Transparent.

But her performance as Dolly made a lasting impression—especially on Dolly herself.

“Here comes little Aly, and she just absolutely blew us away,” Dolly said.
“She’s an amazing little thing. She’s gonna make me look good as a child—I never was that cute!”

Fast Forward: Where Is Alyvia Alyn Lind Now?
