Goldie Hawn’s dazzling new photos sparked debate — here’s what everyone overlooked

A fur coat, flawless skin, and fans in full meltdown. Goldie Hawn just stunned in a dreamy new photoshoot, but the internet’s reaction was anything but peaceful.

The 79-year-old icon graced the pages of Perfect Magazine on August 31, posing in lace gowns, couture kaftans, and a controversial satin Prada coat. What was meant to be a celebration of vintage glam and comedy royalty quickly turned into a firestorm of fur accusations and filter drama.

Gorgeous in Gucci — or too perfect to be real?
In the most viral image from the shoot, Hawn is seen leaning into a baroque fantasy, draped in a brown satin slip dress and wrapped in a voluminous Prada coat. The cover separately showed her in a strapless Norma Kamali gown paired with Gucci and Cartier jewels. The aesthetic? Old Hollywood meets California dream.

But it didn’t take long for critics to shift the vibe.

“Is that real fur? So disappointed 😢” one commenter posted. Others went further, calling the look “ashamed,” “terrible,” and “ruined.” The intense reaction sparked debate and likely missed the memo: Prada banned real fur back in 2020.

In other words, the coat was almost certainly faux, but that didn’t stop the backlash.

Filters, face talk, and fans divided
Beyond the coat, some viewers questioned just how “real” the shoot looked, calling out what they claimed were heavy photo filters and excessive editing.

“Is that even Goldie?” one comment read. “She’s unrecognizable.”

Still, Hawn’s loyal fans clapped back fast: “Who cares if it’s filtered? She looks fabulous and is a beautiful person inside and out!”

This isn’t the first time Goldie’s appearance has sparked internet buzz. At the 2025 Oscars, she wore a custom butter-yellow Swarovski-studded Dolce & Gabbana gown, accessorized with bold jewelry. She later presented onstage with Andrew Garfield, who gave a heartfelt tribute to her before they announced the Best Animated Film nominees. Kurt Russell also accompanied her on the red carpet.

The moment went viral, but so did speculation over whether she’s had cosmetic enhancements.

Some called it too much. Others called it iconic. Classic Goldie discourse.

A glam shoot, a heartfelt tribute, and a media storm
Despite the drama, there were powerful moments woven into the shoot’s message. One slide featured Hawn’s quote in bold pink: “Being funny? Making people laugh? Frankly, that’s God’s work.”

It echoed her emotional Oscars appearance, where actor Andrew Garfield called her “the person who gave my mother, during her life, the most joy and the most comfort.”

Visibly touched, Hawn replied with trademark warmth: “I just loved it. I was so lucky making movies in this amazing Hollywood and making people laugh.”

She even joked about needing help reading the prompter: “I’m completely blind — I have cataracts!”

Filtered or not, she’s still Goldie
Whether she’s wearing couture or cracking jokes onstage, Goldie Hawn remains one of Hollywood’s most magnetic figures. And if this latest photoshoot proves anything, it’s this:

Even after 50 years in the spotlight, the world still can’t stop talking about Goldie. And she still knows how to steal it.
