Fox’s Carley Shimkus shocks fans by sharing her daily routine — waking up at 1:15 a.m. as a new mom to host.

Carley Shimkus Reveals Early Morning Routine and Motherhood Journey

Rising Before Dawn

Carley Shimkus, FOX News personality and co-host of Fox & Friends First, wakes up at 1:15 a.m. every day to prepare for her show. At 37, she follows a strict schedule to stay sharp and ready.

She’s a devoted coffee lover and often looks forward to her morning cup even before going to bed.

Embracing Motherhood
Recently, Carley welcomed her son, Brock, with husband Peter Buchignani. She shared how much Brock has already changed in just a few months.

“Looking back at photos from four months ago, he’s changed so much,” she said. “He’s changed everything about us too.”

A New Perspective on Life and Career
Known for her calm and professional on-screen presence, Carley revealed a softer side after becoming a mom.

Since Brock’s birth in February 2023, her priorities shifted. Career ambitions took a backseat to family time.

Before motherhood, she often worried about balancing her busy career, marriage, and new motherhood. But with support from her husband and nanny, she found clarity.

Carley realized success isn’t always about pushing harder—it’s sometimes about knowing when to pause.

“It’s a love I didn’t know I had,” she said. “That love changed my outlook. Stepping back isn’t a setback. It’s a step forward when it means more time with those who matter.”

Family Moments and Fan Reactions
Carley recently shared sweet photos of Brock’s visit with Santa on Instagram. Though Brock cried on Santa’s lap, the moment captured his curiosity and playful spirit.

Fans noted Brock’s resemblance to Carley. Comments flooded in:
“Your baby is beautiful just like you.”
“He just gets cuter and looks like his mom.”

Life Beyond the Screen
Carley also appeared on Janice Dean’s podcast, sharing that motherhood has been a whirlwind. She joked that Brock is already getting a political education—thanks to growing up with Fox News parents.

Beyond broadcasting, Carley authored Cooking with Friends: Eat, Drink and Be Merry, featuring recipes from Fox News personalities. She fondly remembers watching Fox & Friends cooking segments in high school and loves enjoying the leftovers.

Career Highlights
Carley graduated in broadcast journalism and started at Fox News in 2009 as a production assistant for Fox Business Network. Over time, she reported for Fox News Headlines 24/7 and co-hosted on Fox Nation before landing her current role.
