Ed Kelce, father of Travis and Jason, announces the passing of a loved one

Ed Kelce Shares Personal Loss
Ed Kelce, father of NFL stars Travis and Jason Kelce, announced a heartbreaking loss on August 3, 2025. Without any caption, he posted an obituary link on Facebook, making the news public. The obituary revealed that his girlfriend, Maureen Ann Maguire, passed away peacefully at 74, surrounded by family.

Life and Legacy of Maureen Ann Maguire
Maureen was born on November 21, 1950, in the Bronx, New York. She later settled near Philadelphia, building a home centered on family and tradition. She graduated from Archbishop Prendergast High School in 1968 and earned an education degree from West Chester University in 1972. Maureen worked as an elementary school teacher before focusing on raising her children.

She is survived by three children, six grandchildren, her sister Loretta O’Brien, and brother John Bullock. Maureen was preceded in d**th by her husband Daniel J. Maguire Jr., her parents, and her brother.

The obituary also celebrated her love for the beach, family gatherings, and her passion for football, which she shared with Ed.

Funeral Arrangements Announced
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on August 7 from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at St. John Vianney Church in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania. A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m., with a private burial to conclude the service.

Fond Memories of Maureen
Ed often spoke warmly about Maureen’s easygoing spirit. In February 2024, she shared a playful moment with Travis Kelce’s girlfriend, pop star Taylor Swift. During a game day, Maureen joked, “Hey, that’s my boyfriend,” which made Swift laugh and change her pose for a photo.

Ed also recalled how Maureen helped him recognize Taylor Swift during a game day gathering. Ed admitted he didn’t know Taylor’s name at first, and Maureen teasingly corrected him.

Reflections on Family Life
Beyond Maureen, Ed reflected on his role as a father. In the 2023 Prime Video documentary Kelce, Ed and his former wife Donna revealed they stayed married nearly 25 years for their sons’ sake. Ed explained the practical reasons for staying together, and Donna admitted it was tough.

Travis noticed his parents’ unique dynamic growing up, realizing early on they would likely separate but stayed united for family stability.
