Cher’s Son Hospitalized After Suspected Overd.ose

Elijah Blue Allman, the son of music legends Cher and Gregg Allman, was rushed to the hospital on June 14, prompting a swift emergency response, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. His sudden hospitalization has raised serious concern among those close to him.

“Deputies from our Morongo Basin Station responded to a residence in Landers for a male subject acting erratically,” authorities said per E! News on June 16. “When deputies arrived, Elijah Allman, 48, was being evaluated by emergency medical personnel.”

“Deputies located drugs inside the home and Allman was transported to the hospital. The investigation is ongoing.”

After news broke of Elijah’s hospitalization, his estranged wife, Marieangela King Allman, offered a public statement of support for her former husband, whom she wed in 2013.

Marieangela King Allman, known professionally as Queenie King, is a British‑German singer and songwriter who first gained attention as part of the pop band KING, which she co-founded with her siblings in 1997. Born in 1987—in Mumbai to a British father and German mother—she later relocated to the UK, where her band enjoyed prominence in the late ’90s and 2000s.

“While it is true that Elijah has faced personal challenges in the past,” she told People, “one constant has been his unwavering commitment to sobriety and his loyalty to those he loves. Like many, he continues to confront his inner struggles—but it is important to recognize that he does so from a place of strength, not defeat.”

Marieangela expressed her continued support for Elijah, emphasizing that despite public assumptions about his life, he remains grounded, focused, and committed to living with integrity and purpose. Although she filed for divorce in April, she made it clear that her well wishes for him haven’t wavered. She reaffirmed her ongoing support, describing it as a reflection of the deep respect she holds for him and the resilience he continues to demonstrate.

Elijah’s hospitalization comes about a year and a half after a judge denied Cher’s request for a conservatorship over her son, citing insufficient evidence. Cher had expressed concerns that Elijah might misuse his trust fund money on drugs. In response, Elijah acknowledged past struggles with addiction and admitted to some irresponsible spending. He told Daily Mail he was receiving medical care, attending AA meetings, and had been sober for over 90 days at the time.
