Boxer Passed Away At 25, Just Two Weeks After Wedding Ceremony

British professional boxer Georgia O’Connor has passed away at the age of 25 following a courageous battle with a rare and aggressive form of ca**er, according to reports.

Diagnosed in October 2024 with what doctors described as an “incurable” illness, O’Connor fought valiantly through her final months. Her heartbreaking d**th comes just under two weeks after she married her partner, Adriano. She had shared a touching photo on Instagram, capturing their intertwined hands and wedding rings, celebrating their special day.

O’Connor, a native of County Durham, enjoyed a standout amateur boxing career. She captured a gold medal at the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games, according to the New York Post. That same year, she secured a silver medal at the World Youth Championships, followed by a bronze in the 2018 edition of the tournament, solidifying her reputation as one of Britain’s most promising young fighters.

England Boxing posted a tribute on X: “We’re deeply saddened by the passing of Georgia O’Connor. A gifted boxer and beloved member of the amateur boxing community, she won medals at the Commonwealth Youth Games, Youth Worlds & European Championships. Our thoughts are with her loved ones.”

Earlier this year, O’Connor revealed her ca**er diagnosis, which came after a previous struggle with ulcerative colitis. Throughout her fight, she frequently expressed deep gratitude for her husband, Adriano, highlighting his unwavering support. She shared how he gave up his job to fully commit to helping her through treatment, going above and beyond to explore alternative options, including traveling across Europe in search of therapies not recognized by her doctors.

According to the New York Post, O’Connor began her professional boxing career in 2021 and remained undefeated in her first three bouts before receiving her ca**er diagnosis. Her final appearance in the ring came in October 2022, when she fought on the undercard of the high-profile matchup between former world champion Savannah Marshall and Claressa Shields.
