Trump quiets opponents as his approval rating soars amid successful crime crackdown

President Donald Trump just proved his doubters wrong. The 79-year-old leader is enjoying the highest approval rating of his presidency, a stunning 55 percent, according to a new Daily Mail/J.L. Partners poll.

“This is the highest approval figure we have ever shown for Donald Trump,” James Johnson, co-founder of J.L. Partners, told the Daily Mail.

The numbers mark a six-point surge since July, showing that Trump’s tough stance on crime and steady hand on the economy are resonating with Americans.

Crime crackdown wins over voters
Much of Trump’s bounce appears linked to his August 11 executive order sending federal troops into Washington, D.C. to tackle spiraling crime.

The results have been dramatic: violent crime is down 39 percent, robberies have fallen 57 percent, and car thefts are down 35 percent compared to a year ago.

While some residents protested the federal intervention, the poll shows the majority of Americans back Trump’s decision, which is proof, supporters say, that he’s delivering on law and order.

Economic momentum adds to the glow
Trump’s approval has also been buoyed by stronger-than-expected economic numbers. The U.S. economy expanded 3.3 percent in the second quarter, inflation remained stable, and consumer spending and personal incomes both rose.

On Wall Street, the S&P 500 surged to five all-time records in August, reinforcing a wave of optimism.

Johnson summarized it bluntly: “It might seem surprising, but the news cycle has been ace for the president in recent days: his crime surge in DC is backed by the public, and economic news has been positive.”

A president who stayed at his post
While many politicians took summer vacations, Trump remained in the White House throughout August, focusing on crime, the economy, and foreign policy. His efforts paid off: alongside the crime drop, he scored a diplomatic win by meeting Putin one-on-one in Alaska on August 15 and later hosting Zelensky with European leaders at the White House to push for a Ukraine peace deal.

Now, Trump heads into his upcoming state visit to the UK on September 17 with fresh political momentum and a commanding approval rating to match.

Health rumors fail to stick
Despite online speculation over the President’s health, voters appear unconcerned. White House doctors have confirmed that Trump’s mild leg swelling is due to a common, benign condition, while bruising on his hand stems from frequent handshakes and routine aspirin therapy.

“While overly online Democrats have been excitedly speculating about Trump’s health, the American public simply thinks he’s getting on with the job and give him a big thumbs up,” Johnson explained.

Stronger than ever
At 79, Trump is not only defying age, but also political gravity. With crime down, the economy humming, and his approval rating at an all-time high, the President has shown that, love him or loathe him, he’s still very much in command.
