At 34, Milo Gibson bears a striking resemblance to his famous father, Mel Gibson

Like Father, Like Son: Milo Gibson Steps Into the Spotlight

Mel Gibson has been a Hollywood mainstay for decades, known for legendary roles in Braveheart and Mad Max. But now, the spotlight is shifting—to his son, Milo Gibson, who’s following in his father’s famous footsteps.

Milo Gibson: A Star on the Rise
At 32, Milo is carving out his own path in the film industry. He’s already acted in several movies, including Hacksaw Ridge, which he worked on alongside his father. With striking features and intense eyes, Milo is the spitting image of Mel—and he’s proving he’s got talent to match.

Mel Gibson’s Legacy
Mel Gibson was born in New York in 1956 but moved to Australia at age 12 after his father won on Jeopardy!. He began acting after his sister secretly enrolled him in the National Institute of Dramatic Art. His breakout role came in Mad Max (1979), and by the early ’80s, he had conquered Hollywood.

Not just an actor, Mel became a celebrated director with hits like Braveheart (1995), which won five Academy Awards. He later earned another Oscar nomination in 2017 for directing Hacksaw Ridge.

A Normal Childhood for a Star’s Son
Despite his father’s fame, Milo didn’t grow up immersed in Hollywood glamour. Born in Australia in 1990 and raised in Malibu, he surfed, played football, and lived a relatively grounded life.

“We didn’t grow up in the Hollywood lifestyle clique,” Milo said. “Our parents kept us out of that type of world.”

From Blue-Collar Work to Big Screen
Before stepping into acting, Milo worked as a massage therapist and then as an electrician. He preferred jobs with “real people,” saying he didn’t want to be known just as Mel Gibson’s son.

Eventually, though, his passion for acting took over. “I have a really big passion for acting and I really love doing it,” he told The Hollywood Reporter.

Working With Dad
Milo’s first major acting gig came in Hacksaw Ridge, directed by his father. He credits the experience for teaching him the importance of risk-taking and vulnerability in acting.

He later landed leading roles in All the Devil’s Men (2018), The Tribes of Palos Verdes (2017), and Breaking & Exiting (2018).

Carrying the Gibson Torch
Milo is building his career on his own terms, but his father’s influence is undeniable—especially in their shared looks. “Sometimes people go, ‘Hey, you look like Mel Gibson!’ And I go, ‘F**k, I wish!’” Milo joked.

What’s Next?
With his natural screen presence and range of roles, Milo Gibson’s future in Hollywood looks bright. Most importantly, he’s backed by supportive parents who encouraged him to follow his passion—without pressure.

We can’t wait to see what’s next for Milo. Like his dad before him, he’s got the charisma and talent to go far.
