“Best day of my life”: Dylan Dreyer and husband super happy in celebratory family update

The Today star and husband Brian Fichera beam with pride during a sweet family outing at Fenway Park

Dylan Dreyer just had a weekend to remember and so did her eight-year-old son, Calvin!

The Today Show meteorologist and her husband Brian Fichera, a cameraman at NBC, hit pause on their hectic work schedules to enjoy a heartwarming family night out at the Boston Red Sox game. But this wasn’t just any game — Dylan and Calvin were invited to throw out the first pitch at Fenway Park!

Afterward, a grinning Calvin told his mom:

“Today was the *best day of my life.”
And Dylan? She agreed 100%:
“Hard to top today!” she wrote on Instagram.

Family on the Field

The couple posed on the field with their three sons, Calvin (8), Oliver (5), and Rusty (3), all decked out in personalized Red Sox jerseys. One particularly adorable shot showed the family from behind, each shirt proudly showing their names.

It was a night full of joy, pride, and purpose. Because this wasn’t just about baseball, the game marked Fenway’s first-ever Celiac Awareness Night, a cause deeply personal to the Dreyer-Fichera crew.

Why It Mattered
In 2023, Calvin was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, an autoimmune condition triggered by gluten. Since then, the entire family has gone gluten-free and Dylan has become a vocal advocate for raising awareness, offering recipes and tips to fellow parents navigating the same journey.

“It’s kind of a nuisance to have celiac disease [in the U.S.],” Dylan said in a 2024 interview.
“It wouldn’t be as much of a nuisance over [in the UK].”

She’s spoken out about the lack of affordable, accessible gluten-free products in the U.S., especially compared to her experience shopping in Britain.

London Calling?
While on assignment in the UK, Dylan was stunned by the price difference — buying gluten-free flour for £2 at Waitrose, compared to $20 on Amazon back home.

“All I did was fill up my suitcase with flour, cookies, and biscuits!” she joked.

She even hinted at a dream to spend more time in London with her family, where living gluten-free felt easier and less frustrating.

“I wish it was easier here in the U.S., and it’s not. It’s very frustrating.”

More Than Just a Game
For the Dreyers, it was more than a pitch and a few photos.
It was a celebration of resilience, family, and joy, all under the Fenway lights.

Baseball, bonding, and a cause that hits home.
The Dreyer-Fichera family knocked it out of the park. 💫
