Wimbledon’s spotlight shifts to a ten-year-old royal thanks to one standout feature.

Princess Charlotte showed up at Wimbledon with her family and ended up st**ling the spotlight. It wasn’t anything big or dramatic, but a tiny detail sparked a lot of talk.

She was seated between her mom Kate and her brother George on Center Court, watching Carlos Alcaraz take on Jannik Sinner. It’s her third time being seen at the tournament since 2023, and she was visibly into it, especially rooting for Alcaraz.

At one point she lifted her hands to her mouth in reaction to something happening in the match, and that’s when a photographer caught the detail that got everyone talking. She was wearing pink nail polish, and that’s where the royal watchers kind of lost their minds.

Charlotte had on a white summer dress, flat white shoes, and the pink nails that a lot of fans online thought looked stylish. Some saw it as a break from the usual royal rules, like how young royals are expected to follow certain dress codes.

One outlet said: “Princess Charlotte’s bright nails could be seen as her breaking from tradition, given previous speculation, though that doesn’t appear to be the case.” Another described her nail color as “funky pink.”

But the thing is, pink seems to run in the family. Kate, Diana, and even Queen Elizabeth have been known to favor pink in various ways, from dresses to nail polish like Essie’s Ballet Slippers.

There were social media comments questioning whether bright colors were allowed in the royal family. Someone asked: “Thought bright colors weren’t allowed in the RF.” That lines up with the idea that royals are supposed to stick to pale or neutral shades.

Just a few days earlier, Kate was seen in a muted pink Dior outfit, so it’s not like pink is some rogue color for them. But the pink polish on Charlotte definitely got more attention than that.

One internet commenter guessed: “When you zoom in the nails don’t look too perfect so she probably did them herself or her mum maybe,” and called the idea “gorgeous.” Another took a different tone and said: “It must be push the pretend to be royal month propaganda.”

Still, others loved it and said: “Delighted she is wearing girly pink nail polish! One antiquated rule, down!”

Kate, who wore a blue dress and wide straw sunhat, was also mentioned in the comments. One person defended the family and said: “Beautiful little girl, enjoying time with her Mum who is in remission from cancer. Cut her some slack for goodness sake. She’s human and has feelings like the rest of us.”

Not everyone was focused on Charlotte or Kate. Some people online talked about William and George and how they were both wearing suits despite the heat.

One person joked about the temperature and wondered if they would have preferred “shorts and t-shirts” instead. Another said: “Fancy putting the poor lad in a suit and tie in this heat.”

Charlotte might’ve drawn the most attention, but her brother Archie wasn’t there. He’s built a bit of a rep for going against expectations during public events, so maybe it was for the best.
