Greg Gutfeld recently opened up about his transition to fatherhood during a candid and humorous segment on his show. Reflecting on his experience during a 46-day paternity leave, he revealed a mix of introspection, entertainment, and life lessons.
Quipping about his time off, Gutfeld joked, “Why is this guy writing everything?” before sharing that he spent much of his leave binge-watching shows like Yellowstone, Landsman, Lioness, and Sicario 2. “Surprisingly, it’s better than Sicario 1! Who would’ve thought?” he remarked, injecting his trademark humor.
The tone shifted to a more sentimental note as Gutfeld shared a piece of advice a friend gave him ahead of his daughter Mira’s birth. Holding up a tiny Misfits onesie, he recounted, “Someone told me—can’t remember where—but they said, ‘You know what? You can’t regret anything that happened before your baby was born.’”
This advice struck a chord with Gutfeld. “It really hit me,” he said. “I thought, ‘Wow, 60 years of regret, gone just like that.’” Reflecting on his past, he admitted, “I was a selfish jerk for 60 years, but now, I’m free.”
Ending with a self-deprecating laugh, Gutfeld concluded, “None of it matters because if I had been just a little nicer, my baby wouldn’t be here today.” His reflections highlighted the transformative power of parenthood, with his signature blend of humor and sincerity resonating with fans.
